Introductory Executive Leadership Program
The Atleo Centre for Compassionate Leadership presents their introductory executive leadership program, Ya’ak-stalth: Leading with Compassion in a Tumultuous Era. The introductory executive leadership program invites participants to explore what Team Atleo believes is the essence of leadership, rooted deeply within each of us.
This 2-day experiential learning session in Squamish is grounded in the concept of relationality, that we need each other, and embraces the key principles: to ‘add no more harm’; to make connection before content; and to nurture self-connection (compassionate resilience).
-
Pre-session
Participants will have a virtual 1:1 meeting to support shared understanding and safety, as well as be encouraged to read the companion guidebook to help orient them prior to coming to Squamish.
Two-day session
Held in the unceded territory of the Skwxwú7mesh Úxwumixw (Squamish Nation), including guided teachings, experiential exercises, circle dialogue, reflective and grounding practices and skill development. Each day is 10am - 4pm.
Post-session
Commitment to continued practice and learning, and curiosity of contributing to the health and wellbeing of self and others.
-
Participants will develop:
A model of leadership through compassion and empathy that relies on ‘safety first’ when working with leaders.
Enhance understanding of how to hold space built on trust and safety i.e. add no more harm.
Increase emotional and psychological safety when working through complex conflict.
Learn to communicate in a compassionate manner and develop skills for conflict resolution within the group.
Solve problems and co-create strategies in a calm, constructive, and responsive manner.
Understanding and encouraging self-compassion and self-reflection.
Mindfulness of self and others (empathy).
-
This two-day, in-person program is held in the beautiful and unceded territory of the Sḵwx̱wú7mesh Uxwumixw in Squamish, BC.
For a limited number of introductory cohorts there is funding, including participant transportation and accommodation, as well as physician time, supported by the Joint Collaborative Committee (JCC) Indigenous Specific Anti-Racism (ISAR) Steering Committee and JCC Co-Chairs, representing a partnership between the Doctors of BC and the Government of BC. To be eligible for this funding, cohorts should have a Physician Champion, foster physician involvement and leadership in addressing health system priorities, be a minimum of 12 participants who have not had the opportunity to join Team Atleo for a cohort before, and be predominately physician participants.
We welcome you connecting if you are looking for dates beyond what is offered, aren’t quite sure if you meet the eligibility for funding, or are interested in self-funding a cohort.
